Gen-Y Kids Rude and Insensitive or Just Can't Read Nonverbal Cues

Why Gen-Y Johnny Can't Read Nonverbal Cues ... An emphasis on social networking puts younger people at a face-to-face disadvantage.

MARK BAUERLEIN's article from Aug 28th's WSJ perhaps explains a bit about why our kids don't quite understand that their tone and inflection sends off the wrong cues to others. As I read the Article, I thought about recent arguments over exactly this breakdown in communication with our kids.

It appears that it is in part due to the fact that they use their verbal skills so little, that they are out of practice and out of sync when communicating... Or it's just because they are rude and insensitive toward others :-)
